1. Introduction
Welcome to Boni ("we," "our," or "us"). Boni is a mobile application designed to help pet owners log, track, and manage their pets' daily lives — including feeding, health, training, walks, and more.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the Boni mobile application (the "App"). By using Boni, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect information provided through your sign-in method:
- Google Sign-In: Name, email address, and profile photo
- Apple Sign-In: Name and email address (you may choose to hide your email)
2.2 Pet Data
Information you enter about your pets, including:
- Pet name, species, breed, date of birth, gender, and weight
- Health notes, veterinary records, and medication schedules
- Training sessions, behavioral logs, and progress records
- Feeding schedules and nutritional information
- Bath and grooming records
2.3 Location Data
When you use the walk tracking feature, we collect GPS coordinates to record your walking route. Location data is collected only while you are actively tracking a walk and is not collected in the background when the feature is not in use.
2.4 Photos and Media
You may upload photos of your pets, food logs, and other media. These images are stored securely in our cloud storage.
2.5 Usage Data and Analytics
We automatically collect:
- Crash reports and performance data (via Firebase Crashlytics) to improve app stability
- General usage patterns and analytics events (via Firebase) to enhance user experience
2.6 Subscription and Payment Data
Subscription purchases (Boni Pro) are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. We do not directly collect or store your payment card information — all payment processing is handled by the respective platform.
2.7 AI Chat Interactions
When you use Boni's AI chat feature, the messages you send are transmitted to and processed by Google's Vertex AI / Firebase AI service to generate pet-care suggestions and responses. Your messages are sent to Google solely to produce these responses and are handled under Google's data-processing terms. Please do not share sensitive personal information in the chat. Conversations are not linked to your identity for advertising purposes.
2.8 Advertising
Boni is free to use and is supported by advertising for users who are not subscribed to Boni Pro. We use Google AdMob to serve banner, interstitial, rewarded, and app-open ads. To deliver and measure ads, AdMob may collect and use a device advertising identifier and related information (such as approximate location derived from IP address and ad-interaction data), as described in Google's advertising policies.
- iOS — App Tracking Transparency: On iOS, the App will ask your permission before any tracking across other companies' apps and websites for personalized advertising. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be less personalized.
- Boni Pro removes ads: Subscribing to Boni Pro disables all advertising in the App.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the App: Store your pet data, display your logs, and track activities
- Personalize your experience: Show relevant content based on your pets and preferences
- Improve the App: Analyze usage patterns and crash reports to fix bugs and add features
- Manage subscriptions: Verify your subscription status and provide premium features
- Communicate with you: Send local notifications for reminders (feeding, medication, training) that you have opted into
- Enable family sharing: Allow family members to view and contribute to shared pet profiles
4. Third-Party Services
Boni uses the following third-party services that may collect and process data according to their own privacy policies:

5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure, which provides enterprise-grade security including:
- Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
- Regular security audits and compliance certifications
- Access controls and authentication requirements
While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention and Account Deletion
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. You can delete your account at any time directly in the App under Settings > Profile > Delete Account. When you delete your account:
- Your account, profile, and sign-in identity are permanently removed. On iOS, your Sign in with Apple authorization is also revoked.
- You are removed from any families you share with other members.
- Pet data, logs, and photos in a family shared with other members remain available to those members. To request complete erasure of all pet data and uploaded media associated with you, contact us at boni.app.contact@gmail.com.

7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (you can also delete your account directly in the App under Settings > Profile)
- Data Portability: Request your data in a structured, commonly used format
- Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for data processing at any time
- Lodge a Complaint: File a complaint with your local data protection authority

8. Children's Privacy
Boni is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete that information. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us.
9. International Data Transfers
Your data may be stored and processed on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States and other countries where Google operates Firebase infrastructure. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your data to these locations.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
